Jonesboro man arrested after threatening driver, police say
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A Jonesboro man was arrested after police said he threatened to kill someone while publicly intoxicated.
Jonesboro police officers were called May 27 to the intersection of East Johnson Avenue and Main Street in reference to a suspicious person, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Officers located the man, identified as 51-year-old Aaron Clay Briggs.

Victims told police that Briggs was stumbling around with his fists balled up and yelling at passing traffic. They said Briggs walked into the road, struck their vehicle with his hands and attempted to open the rear passenger door where one victim was seated.
Briggs threatened the victim, stating he was going to kill her, according to the affidavit. The driver said he drove away from the area.
Police reviewed traffic camera footage and confirmed that Briggs approached the vehicle and attempted to open the door.
An officer noted in the report that the officer was familiar with Briggs and that Briggs appeared unusually animated and jittery, consistent with intoxication by narcotics.
Briggs is being held on $75,000 cash or surety bond. He faces terroristic threatening and public intoxication charges.
He is scheduled to appear in court July 30.
