Inspection finds mouse feces throughout Kennett restaurant
KENNETT, Mo. (KAIT) - A recent inspection of a Kennett restaurant found several health code violations including mouse droppings.
According to the inspection report from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Bureau of Environmental Health Services, various code violations including evidence of mice being present were reported during an inspection on Feb. 23 at the McDonald’s on 1731 First St.
The Feb. 23 report said mice feces were found “throughout the entire store,” including behind equipment, on top of CO2 canisters, and even inside the cooler.
The inspector found insulation hanging out of holes in the ceiling, and chewed insulation was found along an outer wall.
The report also noted a strong sewer smell in the lobby and next to the bathrooms, a live roach next to the ice maker, a broken cooler lid, and missing tiles in the storage room.
The report said all these findings were to be corrected by Feb. 27.
On that date, a follow-up inspection was performed.
The report stated mouse feces were found in the kitchen, insulation was still hanging from the kitchen, and chewed insulation was still found along an outer wall.
It also noted the cooler lid was still broken, and ceiling tiles were still missing in the storage room.
Another follow-up inspection was scheduled for March 8.
Upon the March 8 inspection, all violations had been fixed except for the side door not being sealed properly.
