Arkansas State women’s basketball wins SBC Tournament, earns autobid to NCAA Tournament

PENSACOLA, Fla. (KAIT) - Arkansas State women’s basketball makes history in their 50th season.
The Red Wolves rallied from 17 down in the 2nd quarter to force overtime, they beat James Madison 86-79 in the Sun Belt Championship Game. A-State wins the SBC Tournament for the first time in program history and punch their first ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
Crislyn Rose led the Red Wolves with 23 points, she was named the Most Outstanding Player in the Sun Belt Tournament. Kennedie Montue had 11 points and earned a spot on the SBC All-Tournament. Anna Griffin (13 points) and Wynter Rogers (12 points) also scored in double figures in the comeback victory.
The game was tied at 70 after regulation, A-State opened overtime on a 7-1 run en route to the victory.
A-State will await their destination on Selection Sunday. The NCAA Women’s Tournament Selection Show will air March 16th at 7:00pm on ESPN.
