CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) - Arkansas State Police said a Walnut Ridge woman died Saturday night and three Jonesboro residents were injured after a head-on crash on State Highway 1.

Arkansas State Police said in a preliminary crash report that the incident happened at 10:15 p.m. near the intersection of State Highway 1 and Allen Hester Road.

The Arkansas State Police said Frankie Upton of Walnut Ridge died in the crash. Three Jonesboro residents — Tammy Upton, Jean Goza, and Bobby Goza — were injured.

The crash report said Frankie Upton was driving a 2002 Buick LeSabre southbound on Highway 1 when the LeSabre crossed the centerline and struck a northbound 2020 Cadillac XT4, driven by Jean Goza, head-on. The Cadillac left the roadway and overturned.

The injured were taken to St. Bernards Medical Center and NEA Baptist Hospital, according to the report. A medical helicopter was called to the scene.

Arkansas State Police said Upton’s next of kin have been notified.
