Highway 367 west of Newport to close for emergency maintenance

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) - The Arkansas Department of Transportation announced Highway 367 west of Newport will be closed for several miles for emergency maintenance.

The department said the highway will be closed for 7.4 miles starting about 1 p.m. Sunday. The closure starts north of Front Street in Newport and continues west to Jeep Lane.

All lanes will be closed to through traffic.

The department advised drivers to follow detour signs on westbound Highway 14 west and on Interstate 57 to avoid the closure.

The department did not provide a time frame for completion of the repairs.
