Police: Teacher arrested with BAC nearly three times the legal limit
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A night of drinking ended with a Nettleton school teacher behind bars.
At 1:28 a.m. Saturday, April 26, Patrolman Cameron Keleman was called to the Midnight Rodeo, 2801 Fair Park Blvd., regarding a person who was driving while intoxicated.
According to the initial incident report, 39-year-old Delecea Hinson was driving a 2022 Chrysler 300 when Keleman stopped her in the nightclub’s parking lot.
Keleman arrested Hinson on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and hazardous driving.
The incident report stated she had a blood alcohol content of 0.22, which is nearly three times more than the legal limit of 0.08.
Hinson was booked into the Craighead County Detention Center at 1:41 a.m. She was released at 7:26 a.m. on an OR (own recognizance) bond. She’s scheduled to appear in court on June 18.
According to online contract documents, Hinson is an art teacher with the Nettleton School District.
K8 News contacted Superintendent Karen Curtner, who said through her secretary that she could not comment on personnel matters.
We have contacted the district’s attorney for comment and will include it once we receive it.
