Man accused of kidnapping and choking woman
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A Louisiana man is behind bars after the mother of his child told police he choked her.
Craighead County District Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause to charge Tyler Lee Bordelon of Moreauville, La., with:
- First-degree kidnapping and false imprisonment
- First-degree endangering the welfare of a minor
- Aggravated assault on a family or household member
On June 6, the victim called police about an incident of domestic violence she had with Bordelon, her child’s father, on April 29, according to the probable cause affidavit.

She told police that during an argument with Bordelon, he grabbed her by the throat while she held their one-month-old infant.
The victim said Bordelon “strangled [her] tight enough that she could not breathe and began feeling her body go weak as she started seeing spots,” and “almost dropped their son” due to the assault.
The victim said she had to hit Bordelon with a bottle to get him to release her.
The report stated he attempted to strangle her again, but she bit him to stop him from grabbing her again.
The victim said she then ran upstairs, but Bordelon stopped her from leaving the house.
She told police she was prevented from contacting police because of Bordelon’s “control of her movements.”
Court documents stated she waited to make a report until she could flee to a safe location in Louisiana.
Police obtained a warrant for Bordelon’s arrest.
He was taken into custody in Louisiana, then brought to the Craighead County Detention Center.
Bordelon is being held on a $100,000 cash or surety bond. Fowler ordered him to have no contact with the victim and to wear a GPS monitor should he make bond.
Bordelon is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 30.
