JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - The city of Jonesboro brought in a specialist from Wisconsin on Wednesday to inspect the flagpole on top of city hall after reports that the pole may be damaged.

Lynette Hirsch, the city’s marketing and outreach coordinator, said bringing in a pole climber was the most efficient way to check it out.

The city’s fire trucks cannot reach that high up on the pole.

After Chuck Angus made the climb, he found the top half of the flagpole was loose and leans whichever way the wind blows.

Angus gave the city several options, from fixing the pole to replacing it completely.

City leaders are reviewing those choices and deciding what to do next.
