Highway Commission announces 30-day comment period for license plate reader rules

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - The Arkansas State Highway Commission is providing public notice that it intends to create license plate reader rules.
The 30-day or more notice period for receipt of comments began Sunday, April 5, 2026, and ends on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
All interested parties are encouraged to provide comments on the issues related to the above-stated matter. To obtain a copy of the proposed rules, you may access them online at ardot.gov or contact Gill Rogers at 501-569-2108 or by email at Gill.Rogers@ardot.gov.
Any written comments on the proposed rules may be submitted to Rogers via email at Gill.Rogers@ardot.gov or regular mail at ARDOT, Attn: Gill Rogers, P.O. Box 2261, Little Rock, AR 72203-2261. Comments received after the expiration of the comment period on Thursday, May 14, 2026, may not be considered.
A public hearing will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Arkansas Department of Transportation Central Office Auditorium, 10324 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209.
