JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Severe weather has returned to the forecast Thursday afternoon. A LOW (level 2/5) threat for severe storms is in place across extreme northeastern Arkansas and SEMO. All hazards will be possible, but the risk is conditional based on how many storms are able to form.

Timing:

This looks like an afternoon event with most of the storms occurring between 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

If storms develop they will quickly become severe.

Hazards:

Large hail and a few tornadoes are the primary threats with any storm that is able to develop. While widespread coverage is not expected, any storm that does develop will have the opportunity to become severe quickly.
